alone 用法要点（考试必备）
1.表示“独自”、“单独”，可用作形容词或副词。如：
He likes to be alone. 他喜欢独处。
He likes to live alone. 他喜欢独居。
注：在现代英语中，alone 有时也可表示“孤独的”，表示类似lonely 的意思。如：
He felt terribly alone when his wife left. 他妻子离去后他感到很孤独。
2.通常不用 very 修饰，但可用 very much, all 修饰。如：
He went there all alone. 他独自一个去了那儿。
She was sitting all alone in the hall. 她一个人坐在大厅里。
I was all alone in a strange city. 我孤身一人在一个陌生的城市里。
I got scared and I ran and left her all alone. 我一害怕就跑了，把她一个人扔下了。
3.用于名词或代词后，表示“仅仅”、“只有”。如：
The shoes alone cost $100. 光这双鞋就花了100美元。

4.用于 be alone in (doing) sth, 意为“唯一……”。如：

They were not alone in dissenting from the advice. 不同意此建议的不仅仅是他们。
You are not alone in finding him hard to work with. 不止你一个人认为他很难共事。
